About Us
Welcome, and thank you for visiting my website. My name is Stacy Lockard – proud mother of two, wife, and sole proprietor of Baby and Me Designs. My husband of eight years, Ricky, and I welcomed our son, Oscar, to the world in December of 2005. Two years later, we were blessed with our daughter, Ava, who joined our family in September of 2007. We currently call Newburgh, IN home.
Upon Oscar’s arrival, Ricky and I decided to tighten our economic belts; allowing me to stay home, and raise our new son. As a new mother, I often found myself looking for “chic” ways to practice modern motherhood. One of the more popular items was a variety of baby slings. The baby sling seemed to be the solution to my first “new-Mommy dilemma”... dealing with a baby that would only stop crying if I held him. Now, as a new mother, there was nothing I enjoyed more than holding and nurturing Oscar; however, how was I to accomplish anything else, with both arms being used to cradle this child? Answer: a Baby Sling. Rather than purchasing one of the versions I had come across, I decided to venture forth and create my own. The style I chose met all my needs: My hands were free to accomplish the many necessary household tasks, Oscar remained quite content being held securely close to his Mommy, and the overall appearance was indeed fashionably chic.
Attending various “Mommy Events” with Oscar secure in his sling, captured the attention of other Moms; who would enquire as to where I purchased the sling. I inevitably found myself making several more slings to fulfill an increasing amount of requests …and this was, in essence, the beginning of Baby and Me Designs. The opportunity to supplement our family’s income, by performing a craft that I thoroughly enjoyed, suddenly became a reality.
As I expanded my offerings to include other items, such as monogrammed bibs, burp clothes, and onesies, ‘The Diaper Caddy’, and travel blankets, I found it necessary to offer a larger showroom than my new home-based venture could offer. The internet seemed to me the best way to offer my growing number of loyal patrons a “Store-Front” view of my product and fabric choices. So, I joined the “
Since establishing the Baby and Me Designs website, I have continued to expand my product offerings. This expansion has included a venture with a few other talented individuals, in order to offer to you, my loyal customers, one-of-a-kind personalized jewelry and even photographic opportunities.
